Storybook Pumpkin Guidelines:
· Pumpkins may be painted, hot glued, colored, etc. ABSOLUTELY NO CARVED PUMPKINS! Carved pumpkins rot, attract bugs, and smell. Carved pumpkins will not be allowed.
· Pumpkins must represent a favorite book character. This is a home project and pumpkins should be decorated primarily by the student.
· Pumpkins may be dropped off at school or transported on the bus. If on the bus, the pumpkin must fit on the student’s lap. Carrying the pumpkin inside a bag is recommended.
· On an index card or 3” x 5” piece of paper, write student’s name, grade, teacher, book title, book author and character name.
· If possible, each student should bring the book which inspired their pumpkin to be put on display along with the pumpkin. Be sure to label the book with the student’s name.
· Each student will receive a Certificate of participation, as well as a chance at a $20 gift card to the Scholastic Book Fair.
· Pumpkins must either be picked up or taken home on Friday, November 1st. Any pumpkin remaining will be discarded.
Reglas de la actividad:
· Las calabazas se pueden pintar, colorear y se le pueden pegar objetos, pero no se pueden cortar porque se pudren rápidamente y huelen mal.
· Las calabazas deben representar el personaje de un libro. Aunque este es un trabajo para hacer en casa, principalmente debe ser su hijo el que decore la calabaza.
· Si su hijo trae la calabaza en el autobús, deberá caber en su regazo. Le recomendamos que la lleve en una bolsa.
· Escriba en una tarjeta de 3 x 5 pulgadas el nombre del alumno, su grado, el título del libro, el autor y el nombre del personaje.
· Si es posible, les pedimos que acompañen la calabaza con el libro donde aparece el personaje. No se olvide de poner el nombre de su hijo en el libro.
· Todos los alumnos recibirán un certificado y participarán en el sorteo de un vale de 20 dólares para la feria del libro de Scholastic.
· Se podrán llevar las calabazas a casa el 1 de noviembre. Las que queden se tirarán a la basura.
