Welcome to Roosevelt Dual Language Academy!

I am principal Martha Esquivel. The 2024-25 school year will be my second year as principal at RDLA. In my more than 20 years with Edgewood ISD, I have been a bilingual teacher, an Accelerated Interventionist, an Instructional Facilitator and an Assistant Principal. Throughout my various roles, I have always worked to provide an equitable education for Edgewood students.

As we move into the new school year, I am focused on cultivating a school community centered on creating a positive climate and culture of excellence.

I am also a mother, wife, daughter, and sister. My husband and I have two amazing boys, ages eight and fourteen. They are a daily reminder that what I want for them, I want for all students .
