The bus driver has an important job: getting students safely where they need to go. Young riders can help by listening carefully, following directions and using respectful voices and behavior. Safe transportation takes teamwork!

Not sure what your child needs? Start with your school nurse. Our nurses can help families review school immunization records and identify whether documentation or required vaccinations may still be needed. You don’t have to figure it out alone—we’re here to help.

A few minutes of planning can make school mornings easier. Check your campus calendar each week for upcoming events, special days and important reminders. Knowing what’s ahead helps families prepare—and helps young students feel ready for their week.

There are caring people behind every school meal. Our Child Nutrition teams work each day to prepare and serve quality meals that help students feel ready to learn. And remember: breakfast AND lunch are FREE for every Edgewood ISD student, every school day!

Every student is an important part of our school community. When a student is absent, teachers notice. Classmates notice. Coaches, counselors and staff notice. Your student belongs here, and we look forward to seeing them at school each day.

Big feeling? Try a small pause. Teach children a simple strategy: breathe in slowly, pause, then breathe out slowly. Repeat a few times. Pair it with words like, “I’m frustrated,” “I’m worried,” or “I need a break.” Learning to name and manage feelings takes practice—and that’s okay.

Principal Appreciation Month may be coming to an end, but our gratitude never does!

A report card tells a story of growth—not perfection. Celebrate what your child has learned, recognize their effort and choose an area to keep improving. Every new skill mastered is another step forward on a journey that can someday end with a cap, gown and diploma!

Safe riders make safe bus rides! Remind young riders to stay seated, keep the aisle clear and listen carefully to the driver. These simple rules help everyone get to and from school safely.

Healthy schools are a community effort. Vaccination helps reduce the spread of vaccine-preventable illnesses and adds protection for classmates who may be especially vulnerable to serious illness. When families take steps to protect their children, they also help strengthen the health of the school community.
